Where Our Dream Began...

In 1993, Sharon Hollingshead began teaching ballet and jazz at the YMCA in Hollidaysburg, Pa. After many hours at the barre and a lot of time spent choreographing, the dance program more than doubled in size. In 1997 Sharon relocated to 401 Bedford Street in Hollidaysburg and created the Hollidaysburg School of Dance. The move provided more flexibility to the dance schedule, and the dance school expanded to more than 200 students. Sharon realized the need for a state-of-the-art facility for her dance school and bought property in the Strawberry Meadows development in Duncansville. Construction was complete in February 2002. It was exciting to move into the new building with two dance studios equipped with professional “floating” floors, a lobby that offers a waiting area for dancers and their families, and a director’s office. After re-establishing at our Duncansville location, we changed the studio name to Holliday Dance in 2006.

The studio continues to grow and offers many dance styles. Our classes include ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, acro, hip hop, modern, tap, musical theatre productions and a platinum-winning competition team that’s over 50 members strong. The studio currently travels to the Regional Dance Educators of America and Starbound Dance Competitions.

With a faculty of dedicated and energetic teachers, the Holliday Dance family provides a wonderful opportunity to learn, to dance, to build self-esteem, and to make friends.

We Live.  We Dream.  We Dance.
